Funding opportunity for local/regional authorities to demonstrate and scale up solutions for chemical pollution prevention and remediation in new associated regions.
The call invites new 'associated regions' to collaborate in preventing, eliminating, and remediating water pollution from chemicals. Selected regions will receive funding and technical support to develop plans and projects addressing Contaminants of Emerging Concern (CoEC) in the Mediterranean. Proposals should replicate existing solutions in new regions while aligning with the initiative’s objectives and processes.

The call supports projects that extend and demonstrate the feasibility, replicability, and scalability of innovative solutions for chemical pollution monitoring and remediation. Funded activities may include pollution detection, hotspot identification, prevention strategies, and remediation actions in new associated regions.

Individual or consortium
Only local and regional authorities from eligible associated regions can apply. Private entities cannot apply but may be involved as subcontractors.
Specific eligibility requirements
Applicants must be from EU Member States or Associated Countries, excluding those already represented in the consortium.
Proposals must align with initiative objectives and demonstrate the capacity to implement solutions in their respective regions.
Regions previously funded in the first call are not eligible.

Upstream Chemical Pollution Detection – Monitoring, mapping, and hotspot identification.
Solutions Against Chemical Pollution – Prevention, reduction, and remediation methods.
Project duration
9 months, structured into three phases:
Use Case Definition – 2 months
Implementation – 4 months
Evaluation & Feedback – 3 months
Budget, funding rates, and payment conditions
Funding rate: 100%
Budget limit: Up to €100,000 per project, distributed as follows:
Stage 1 (Use Case Definition) – Up to €17,000
Stage 2 (Implementation) – Up to €58,000
Stage 3 (Evaluation & Feedback) – Up to €25,000
Payments: Three installments (17% + 58% + 25%) based on milestone completion and evaluation.
