Open Call offers funding for SMEs and Start-ups to develop AI-driven, multi-robot solutions for industrial welding and additive manufacturing challenges.
The call seeks proposals for developing flexible, cooperative, and intelligent multi-robotic solutions for arc welding-based manufacturing processes (joining and additive manufacturing). The goal is to enhance operational efficiency and flexibility in industrial processes by testing, validating, and integrating innovative solutions into real-world use cases.
Type of projects to be funded
Funding is available for technology providers developing multi-robot cooperative welding and Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing (WAAM) solutions for industrial applications. Solutions should integrate:
AI-driven automation
Inspection, monitoring, and control technologies
Preheating systems and real-time quality validation
Sectors / domain
Industrial robotics, manufacturing, welding, and AI-driven automation.
Individual or consortium
Only individual entities are eligible.
SMEs and Start-ups can apply for funding.
Larger companies can participate without receiving funding.
Specific eligibility requirements
Open to SMEs and Start-ups established in:
EU Member States
Overseas Countries and Territories
Horizon Europe Associated Countries
Non-profit organizations are not eligible.
COROB Consortium members, their affiliates, employees, and collaborators cannot apply.
Projects must align with COROB’s industrial challenges and start at TRL 4-5, reaching TRL 5-6 by completion.
Specific topics or challenges
Applicants must address one of the following challenges:
CH 1: Preheating systems integrated into robotic welding solutions.
CH 2: Real-time CAD and quality checks in pre- and post-processing stages, incorporating virtual validation.
Project duration
6 months.
Budget, funding rates, and payment conditions
Funding rate:
Start-ups: 100% funding.
SMEs (non-Start-ups): 70% funding (30% self-funded).
Budget limit:
Fixed lump sum of €67,500 per project.
Total budget: €135,000 (funding up to 2 projects).
Payments:
Stage 1 (Month 2): €14,175
Stage 2 (Month 5): €33,075
Stage 3 (Month 6+1): €10,125
Final payment (September 2026 +9 months): €10,125
