The EIC Accelerator 2026 call supports startups and SMEs to bring technologies and innovations to market and scale globally. Backed by the European Innovation Council under Horizon Europe, the initiative targets projects with the capacity to create new markets or disrupt existing ones. The EIC Accelerator offers grants of up to €2.5 million and (optional) equity investments of up to €10 million.
The programme supports innovations across all fields (Open Call) and also includes targeted Challenge Calls focusing on strategic areas such as advanced materials, low-emission biotech for food and feed, generative AI, resilient space infrastructure, and future mobility. With a continuous short application process and six cut-off deadlines for full proposals, the EIC Accelerator aims to boost Europe’s ecosystem, strengthen economic resilience, and support companies ready to scale their impact on a global stage.
Eligibility Criterias:
Selected startups and SMEs can apply for blended funding through the EIC Accelerator 2026 call, including non-dilutive grants of up to €2.5 million for innovation activities, and global expansion (such as prototyping, testing, and validation), and equity investments of up to €10 million.
In addition to financial support, beneficiaries gain access to tailored business acceleration services, including coaching, mentoring, investor matchmaking, and partnership opportunities - giving companies not only the capital but also the guidance to grow sustainably and strategically.
The programme is open to:
Startups and SMEs (fewer than 250 employees).
Individual innovators (natural persons) intending to establish an SME by the time of the contract.
Applications follow a two-stage process:
Stage 1 proposals can be submitted at any time (continuously), and include a pitch deck (up to 10 slides), video (up to 3 minutes), and the application.
Stage 2 - Full proposals (if invited) must be submitted by the 6th of May 2026. Finalists will pitch to a jury of investors and experts in an interview.
Proposals are evaluated on their excellence, impact, and implementation feasibility.
