Selected start-ups, SMEs, and Mid-Caps will receive a grant of up to €230,000, which is non-diluting, meaning it doesn't require giving up equity in the company. This funding is intended to support the development and implementation of innovative XR educational solutions, including product development, market research, and pilot testing in real-world educational settings.

The grant also provides technical and business support through tailored workshops and mentorship, helping beneficiaries grow and scale their solutions. Regular evaluations will ensure projects meet predefined objectives and KPIs, such as increased learning outcomes and user engagement. Additionally, tailored services will support the delivery and expansion of pilot activities, including technical guidance and user feedback integration.

Funds are disbursed in three lump sums based on the delivery of project reports and evaluations: 40% after contract signature and delivery of the detailed project implementation report, 40% after the intermediate report at month 6, and 20% after the final report at month 12. All activities must comply with relevant data protection and ethical guidelines, particularly when involving minors or vulnerable groups.

Projects must address one of the following areas: virtual field trips applications, content creation applications, awareness of climate change and biodiversity challenges, training of young professionals, distance and blended learning, or accessibility and inclusion. Each solution must utilize the XR4ED platform, be rigorously tested and evaluated, and include a detailed project proposal outlining how it will meet the objectives and requirements of the selected challenge area.
